Konteks dan interpretasi

Napoleon memesannya pada 1807 dan menghadiahkannya kepada Pangeran William dari Prusia pada September 1808. Rekaman lengkap mencakup dua belas cangkir, dua belas piring alas, teko, wadah gula, krimer, dan mangkuk. Museum menjelaskan bahwa Caron mempelajari tumbuhan di kebun botani Paris serta buku tentang hewan dan burung untuk melukis adegan tersebut.
